2027 mind games or power crisis? Khalwale calls out Junet and questions integrity in Kenya’s leadership

Boni Khalwale, the current Senator for Kakamega County and a well-known figure in the Kenya Kwanza government under President William Ruto, has strongly reacted to new claims made by Junet Mohamed. Junet accused the impeached former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua of planning the abduction of Juja MP Koimburi.

The MP was later found abandoned in a coffee plantation, causing shock across the country and exposing deep cracks within the ruling political class.Khalwale did not hold back.

He came out guns blazing, calling out Junet and questioning his sense of morality. In his sharp response, Khalwale did not just defend the political system but pointed fingers at what he sees as the growing trend of using lies and accusations as political tools.

According to him, the real problem is not just the alleged abduction, but a bigger issue that touches the heart of Kenya’s leadership the collapse of honesty and the rise of fake drama meant to confuse the public.

He accused some leaders of turning politics into a game of tricks, where stories are spread not to seek justice but to destroy rivals. Khalwale, who is known for his boldness and powerful speeches, made it clear that he believes such moves are harmful to the nation and must be stopped.

He warned Kenyans to open their eyes, because behind these public fights are well-organized schemes that serve private political goals, not the people’s needs.

Many Kenyans have already started looking at the issue differently. To them, this may be more than just a story about an abduction. Some believe it could be a carefully crafted plan to make Gachagua look like a strong man, a victim of the system, and possibly a major player in the 2027 elections.

With Gachagua now outside of government, his name is still trending in political discussions, and some analysts see this as a way of keeping him relevant and building up sympathy for him among voters.

This whole situation has also raised questions about the strength of the government. If Gachagua, despite being impeached, is still able to cause such tension and confusion, what does that say about the government’s grip on power?

For Khalwale, this is a sign that something is deeply wrong. He believes that the Kenyan political space has become a battlefield where truth does not matter anymore, and where leaders are more interested in plots than service.

He ended his statement by calling on Kenyans to be careful and stay alert. In his view, we are living in a time when loyalty is bought with favours, not earned through good leadership.

Khalwale wants the people to understand that integrity, which should be the guiding light of leadership, is now treated as a joke.
